1. Climate Strike Letter
Three student-members of our Green Club wrote and students across all grade level signed an inspiring note in support of the School Strike for Climate (inspired by Greta Thunberg), which was shared at the September 20, 2019 march at City Hall and shared with local politicians.
2. Styrofoam Ban
Prep student advocacy played an important role in Baltimore City's ban on styrofoam in food service facilities, signed into law in April 2018.
3. Pollinator Garden
With help from volunteers at Constellation Energy and our Green Club we built a pollinator garden with local plants sourced from Herring Run Nursery.
4. Sensory Garden
Parent, teacher, and student volunteers built an urban multi-sensory garden in order to create a unique nature-based setting for play and learning for children with all abilities and learning styles.
5. Walk & Bike to School
Our students, parents and teachers walk or bike to school if possible and have participated in making a video for Live Baltimore to promote walking and biking to school, participate yearly in Walk & Bike to School Day, and recently installed an additional bike rack in front of the school.
